Welcome to Anywhere, my tribute to the band Evanescence during the years of 1995-2003.

Evanescence is a gothic rock band founded in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1995 by singer/pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody.

This shrine is not intended to be comprehensive, it's just a small personal project where I can celebrate my personal connection to the band.

Evanescence was founded by singer and pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody. While Evanescence was founded in 1995, they didn't become popular until 2003 when they released their first LP Fallen.

In the Fall of the same year, Ben left the band because of "creative differences". Amy alluded to the idea that Ben was focused on creating music that would be popular, rather than taking creative risks.

In a 2006 interview, Amy said "I don't hate Ben; I just don't ever want to speak to him again. He was truly kind of poisonous. Some people just aren't good for you."

Terry Balsamo from the band Cold replaced Ben as guitarist and co-songwriter. He suffered a thrombotic stroke in 2005, but recovered and stayed in the band until 2015.

In 2006, Evanescence would release their second album, The Open Door. They have released a couple more albums since then, but have not experienced similar success and popularity as they had with Fallen.

Evanescence's music is marked by Amy Lee's distinct and classically-trained vocals and its inclusion of classical instruments.
